Hello everyone!The warzone here is quite stressful, so I am sorry for not updating my fotopage or just uploading pointless pictures

Saya nak kongsi satu "lawak" yang saya dapat dari papan buletin dari Friendster
| Quote: |
Why Dr. Mahathir insisted on using English for
math and science ?
This is because the whole world uses the language
as an information and/or technology language.
How dangerous it will be if we try to use bahasa,
especially in school.
See example below...
hardware = barangkeras
software = baranglembut
joystick = batang gembira
plug and play = cucuk dan main
port = lubang
server = pelayan
client = pelanggan
Try to translate this:
ENGLISH :
That server gives a plug and play service to clients
using either hardware or software joystick. The
joystick goes into the port of the client
Now in BAHASA:
Pelayan itu memberi pelanggannya layanan cucuk
dan main dengan menggunakan batang gembira
jenis keras atau lembut. Batang gembira itu
dimasukkan ke dalam lubang pelanggan.
Now You Know why..........!
Ish...study english bebenar tau...ahaha...SPREAD
the joke! |
| Quote: | hardware = perkakasan
software = perisian
joystick = batang kawalan
plug and play = pasang dan pakai
port = lubang
server = komputer pelayan
client = komputer pelanggan (bergantung kepada konteks)
_________________________________________________________
ENGLISH :
That server gives a plug and play service to clients
using either hardware or software joystick. The
joystick goes into the port of the client.
BAHASA:

Point and shoot | ISO 400 | f/? | ? sec
Collage made using Picasa. No other editing being done with these pictures
Earlier in April i bought a new camera and used it straightaway. That is the most user friendly camera with with instruction written ON THE BODY so you will never have to look the instruction elsewhere. No menu to navigate, unknown fixed aperture, fixed ISO, fixed focal length (i suspect it's around 30 something), even the shutter speed was fixed. It only have frame counter display. I don't even have to charge anything before I can use this camera!
Sounds funny?care to guess what camera is this? I think you already know it now. Yeah, it's the all mechanical, spring-and-human powered disposable camera and this one DON'T EVEN HAVE A FLASH! heck even the film doesn't have DX coding whatsoever. The only thing i can push is the shutter button. And the lens is plastic. The body obviously as well. The viewfinder is just a bunch of plastics without any frame-aid or focus points or meter...nothing! This i would say is the most primitive modern camera I ever used! even vintage cameras have a couple aperture card...
It's quite fun actually. You only care about framing and hoping your luck is good. No settings to screw up with. No review button to assess your picture straightaway. And the anticipation while waiting for the film to finish develop. That feeling is soo...different than what we have with digital. It felt soo, classic, remarkable, fun!
But in the end i ended paying extra than i thought i would (for goodness sake i used a disposable camera!). Maybe because of the scanning charge...huhuhu
oh, the camera brand is KONICA MINOLTA. Which no longer in camera business...

Aperture Priority | f/2.8 | 1/1500 sec | 0 EV Matrix Metering | 200mm | ISO 100 | ~15% crop
Picture taken on 3/4/2006 in Leeds town centre around 3pm. The sun lighted parts of this street, because the buildings blocking the light. I was lucky to get this shot, as this was taken spontaneously. I felt something interesting about her so i quickly aimed with my camera, took the shot, and quickly lowered the camera, not to make it obvious. Result was better than expected (I'm not hoping for a prize winning picture anyway )
No adjustment whatsoever except a little cropping (my lens won't get that far)

The York Station...
|
|
Aperture Priority | f/10 | 2 sec | Spot metering | ISO80 | 30mm
Took this on 28/1/2006 during a trip to York. When my friend was looking for the train, i actually stopped and took this picture. I rested the camera on the railing and used 2 seconds timer (sort of mirror lock-up to reduce vibration). Took me less than 2 minutes for this shot (yeah, or else my friend would leave me alone and miss the train!), so Im not sure about the composition. Need comment!
Oh yeah, furthermore, i used Picasa to convert it to black and white. No, not B&W on the effects tab! but the filtered B&W, for extra control . Plus the usual shadow/highlight little tweaks. That's it!

Half Spring...
|
|
This picture is an old stock (taken on 2/2/2006)...been browsing my old pictures and decided to delete the bad ones and mark the ones i actually wanted to upload...so in the end i freed ~5GB of my hard disk space...hahaha...talking about a photo-junkie ...
I don't think i will have ample free time to take loads of picture after this as the final exam is near...so hopefully i can still update my fotopage with some unpublished pictures that i kept all for myself all these time . so stay tune!
Oh yeah, about this picture...i used picasa tuning mode to "cross-processed" it (it only took a few seconds)Just bump up the highlights to around +30% and shadow ~+15%. Adjust the colour temperature so that the background looks whiter (to create the hi-key look). No cropping for this particular image. Text added using PS:CS2. Originally it's just an ordinary macro of flowers
