Still Got The Blues

Aha! I know I should push myself and sort out the pictures, but sentimental bug bit me. Okay so last week was my birthday, and I had a wedding photoshoot. So work is priority-ONE. Quite a few people sent birthday wishes, how sweet of them!

Reena, Azahari, Qilah, Dause who shared the same birthday with me, my jrs Mas and Nubz, Nisa, Kak Teena who I never met personally, cousins DJah and Ainuddin and Abg Jamal who treat me with AnW root beer somewhere in KJ, Azzyati who I haven't meet for 3 years, CT Hawa, Sholehah and Farah Syed among others
I think I don't need cake or anything this year, nor gathering or suprises that I think don't completely deserve such celebration. Anyway who care prizes as the thing you really wished actually happened on your birthday? I feel that way. I feel soo happy to have friends who remember that small date. And I'm happy to meet someone who somehow made me smile the whole week eventho physically I am not fit. (coughing untill now, and the medicine doc gave me made me drowsy and sleepy for at least half a day...). but Yes I'm still happy!
The song only made my emotion sway left and right a bit tonight. Kinda sooth my mind till decided that it's time to sleep...

sorry dear friends it's been a tough Raya for me as my Raya schedule packed day and nights. Well,not that pack but I've been plagued by flu and cough, and it got worse day after I came back from KL....huhuhu!
did a few photoshoots so far but I have not prepare them yet for this fp. Will update from time to time heheheh...

Went to this competition last September with Kak Ayusafura. Got the tickets from my mom heheheh
Technicals
- The lighting was very challenging. The rapid change of spotlights and lack of any other available lights was driving me crazyy. Plus no flash was allowed during the show as RTM crews don't want any disturbance to their complicated video camera systems.
- Which lead to second challenge - focusing. It was hard to focus with that kind of lighting. D50 doesn't have focusing boxes small enough for accurate measuring. depends on your lens, and luck, sometime you might lock the focus and take the picture while it is still in focus. The subjects move around and didn't give me much time to really concentrate on this. Small DOF because the need to use large aperture making this worse.
- I sat about 20 metres from the stage. Which is uncomfortably far. It was crowded and I couldn't get any closer.
But it was still fun! this is the first event, apart from what I usually have in Leeds, that I can actually test and criticise myself. Hopefully won't be the last!

St Teresa's Educational Trip

Sorry should have updating my fp with these for the past weeks (or even month!)...but my laptop suddenly ceased to work and I had to borrow my father's laptop and transfered everything. That took a long time, since I have to reorganize everything again! Anybody kind enough to give me a Mac Mini?Or at least 2nd hand 24inch IMac lah hehehe.

This trip was supposed to be for primary 6 students who just finished their UPSR. My mom, the headmaster assitant (student welfare), asked me to join her, just for the fun of it. Yep, haven't been to this kind of places for a looo..ong time! And I have to say children nowadays are quite, hyper ey?

Taken earlier this month...that was a really big cloud! The pilot took 30 minutes at least to gain altitude because of it, i think  .
still sorting out my pictures...the more i look at them, the more confusing it become...huhuhu

- My hard disk is critically low on free space, and to make it worst, my CD writer fail to work...
- I have to reorganise my photos again, deleting any that are not worthy keeping
- Will work on updating this fp with a few backlog entries later

Siti Salina and Mohd Faishal - Wedding 2-3 Sept 2006

They are friends of mine back in practical time in Miri! Flew all the way to Subang/Shah Alam on the bride's request to take their wedding pictures. I don't have much experience in taking this kind of event. Kind of nervous everytime because I'm not really good at this photography, and of course people expect high quality frames. Buat confident je la. Hopefully my pictures are good enough for the bride and groom. Selamat Pengantin Baru!
Facts
- They wanted the printed pictures to be all monochrome
- I only found ONE kind of sticky-album with black pages in the whole Kuching
- Gawd making a wedding album is hard!
- Taking wedding is very very challenging!
- Actually love the album soo much I had heavy feeling to deliver it huhuhu (first proper album mahh)
- Pictures I've uploaded here were from the print selection, sorry no colour as my ancient laptop had been pushed separuh mati to add the borders and do the conversion alone
- Still sooo much to learn!
I can't deliver chocolate covered strawberries but I can give all tarts I could find with all my heart
Hopefully my pictures did justice to preserve this glorious and memorable wedding!

3000th upload might be a big news...but there is still a long way to go...
From now on Im attaching "simplypictures" on some of my pictures in this fotopage. Black or white "simply-" with coloured (usually green) "-pictures" with bold arial/verdana equivalent font . Have you seen similar brand/label somewhere?Tell me yeah! I think that will become my brand. Eventhough I don't do photography as a living nor my pictures are good enough, but branding is a good start for me to train my professional attitude.
And also because of the need to keep my rights to my photos, I have to declare that all my pictures now are copyrighted. Straight from the camera. It's in the EXIF with "(C) 2006 AhmadSafriYusop/simplyPctrs" in the comment. No worries for friends, you can take pictures for personal use  . There will be some pictures as well that might be common-licensed for public use. Understand our law and careful with what you take, then it should be fine. Just acknowledge me before anything yeah?
Actually I don't worry that too much. I don't think my pictures are worthy copying anyway...

Short updates
- Merdeka celebration within 2 hours away...and I haven't sleep yet!
- school kids been practising for weeks and weeks...they even sleep at school for a few nights and wake up 3AM in the morning for prep, makeup bla bla bla..and practising till noon...imagine that...
